Transport

South East Volunteers’ Transport service has been running for over 30 years and was started to meet the needs of the local community of the City of Monash, as residents lack or lose their ability to drive. Our low cost transport service is still in constant demand, and growing. We do not want you to feel trapped in your own home.

Our service is popular because our drivers and other volunteers are caring people who will help you and walk you to the door if needed. We will run a check if you are not answering the door as we take our duty of care seriously.

Our transport service is available Monday to Friday for appointments mainly between 9.30 and 3pm and there is a small fee, depending on your pension status and distance travelled.

All our volunteer drivers are tested every 3 years, are police checked, reference checked and mentored in how to best assist our clients, as well as attending volunteer training sessions.

Our aim is to enable you to improve your physical and mental health and development so volunteer Transport may be booked for allied medical and social club appointments, including:

  • Dentist
  • Optometrist
  • Specialist
  • Physiotherapy
  • Podiatry
  • Blood tests
  • Xrays
  • Exercise classes
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Visiting a partner or family member in hospital or residential care
  • Senior Citizens clubs
  • Church groups
  • Educational classes
  • Day Centre activities
